My first real open source contribution

This weekend, I was working on a project relating to email and I came across a road block I wasn’t sure how I could resolve. After spending a bit of time looking through the gems that handled that bit of the code I came across the problem. I was able to write a few lines of code and get things working.

I was very nervous writing the pull request because I know people with much more experience will be looking at my code. I am glad I took the leap to put my code out there and I look forward to the feedback - whatever it may be.

My lesson from this is… Making contributions is rewarding and they push me a little beyond my comfort zone which I enjoy.

I will be looking forward to making more contributions soon!

P.S. If you want to see the PR you can see it here - https://github.com/thoughtbot/griddler/pull/185
